In 2011, SMCpros helped execute strategy and manage communications for Grand Old Day; the largest one-day festival in the Midwest. A year later SMCpros was called on, again, to create the social media strategy for Grand Old Day 2012.
Keeping in mind successful pieces of the 2011 strategy, SMCpros created a social strategy that incorporated these elements, while further expanding on the previous year’s approach. In the end, SMCpros decided to create a custom Facebook application for the event, and delivered a comprehensive messaging strategy across Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Pinterest to create awareness and promote Grand Old Day.
Grand Old Day made huge waves across social media, even trending locally in the first position on Twitter. Grand Old Day had a great turnout, their Facebook page saw a huge increase of fans, and Grand Avenue’s website saw a giant leap in traffic. SMCpros participated in the parade and worked with a third party to live-stream one of the entertainment stages to grandave.com.
