Twitter has become a unique communication platform by requiring succinct communication. As a result of its setup, it has yielded keyword rich content which is easily indexed and searched.  This efficient communication allows for an aggregated job search which cuts out the job search fluff and lets you find what you want.  Depending on the field you are looking in, Twitter may or may not be a good place to start.

Twitter Job Search Do’s

• Use a professional profile picture
• Include contact information
• Be punctual in responding
• Use your link to point to a place about you professionally
• Use the space in your background as a place to share more about yourself
• Engage in a conversation with
• Use the twitter search function to find postings that relate to you

Twitter Job Search Dont’s

• Don’t restrict the conversation to Twitter — if the poster offers another place to contact them, do so there
• Don’t tweet personal messages while communicating with potential employers on Twitter
• Don’t use Twitter exclusively when searching for a job
